Had an emergency team meeting this morning to let us know why one of our senior staff members won't be with us for a while. Apparently him and his wife were attacked by their son yesterday, he's stable - she's critical and the homestead they bought just before Covid hit, and have been rennovating for the past few years went up in flames. Really surreal way to start the week

The pest guy was scheduled to come today between 7:30-9:30 but they canceled around 8:15 due to the frigid temps. It would’ve been nice to know that sooner; this weather has been expected for a week.

Got back home after being gone all weekend to our house reeking of gas. Went over to our neighbor’s house to wait for the gas company to come out. Small leak in a furnace pipe and the dryer hose. Maybe I’ll have fewer headaches now.

The shut off valves for the gas to my furnace and water heater are also shot, in the sense that they don’t turn freely, so gotta get those replaced once it warms up.

Man, that place looked beautiful. Built in 1860 too. Let me guess - meth is involved.

That's seriously fucked up Rangi. That poor family.

I don't think it's meth. This dude bought his son over from Aus shortly after they moved back here, and I knew he had health problems - but I had just assumed physical. I guess it was mental health issues.
My workmate seems like he's OK from the update we got today - injured hand and some 'minor' head injuries. His wife is still in a coma

Found out that my sister has breast cancer. Sounds like they caught it early. She's waiting to hear back from the doctor about the next steps.

Sorry to hear, Tommy. Hopefully, they caught it early enough.
