The smaller the subreddit, the less likely it is that you'll encounter a total asshole. Here's a list. You're bound to find something interesting. I recommend Food for Thought, Mildly Interesting, Psychogeography, First World Anarchists, Need Advice (take the advice with a huge grain of salt) and Creepy PMs (this one can be a little mean, but it makes me laugh-- focusing on creepy private messages received by redditors). Those are just a few that I like. There's thousands, about all kinds of things.

YOu people need to see the real issue here and not distort what was trying to be expressed in the article. How many college parties have you been to? How many friday or saturday nights have you worked at a freshmen dormitory? Universities all over the country set up saftey meetings for incoming freshmen women, because they come across the dangers written in that article. Is the university then being sexist? Is it blaming young women? No, but they need to instruct possible consequences if not careful. Be of good judgment etc. Because it can help. They're not being assholes, they're looking at statistics and ways to prevent incessant dangers. And you guys feel the need to berate them?

Honestly, you people need to get a grip on reality.

I agree. The guys should be instructed as well. But what I feel you're attacking is already inherent in the environment. Some guys are asshole predators. How do you prevent that? I would also add that a lack of this proper action, coupled with the "advice" I linked to only contributes to the unneeded and wrongful fear placed upon women that rapists are just around the corner, and they're on their own to deal with it. Living with that kind of fear around is pretty shitty.
