The Holdovers.

I like it alright but its not a memorable movie, kinda feels Payne was checking out different life dramas to get the story going forward. It was cute i guess.

How To Have Sex

Boring, obvious, doesnt have anything new to say at all about the subject. Feels also weirdly judgemental.

I really enjoyed How to Have Sex. Felt nuanced and believable in a way many movies of this type don't, unafraid to explore some ambiguities of modern-day sexual politics. There's some skillfull playing with subtleties there. I didn't see it as judgmental -- more honest and personal and tinged with some regret. Seems like it's somewhat autobiographical. Big fan of that one

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Looks amazing on 4k/HDR streaming, particularly the night time portion of the final battle, but the middle drags without the immersive 3d they had in theaters.

I'm not sure I think we should start a thread where we endlessly debate that
