It would be nice if they release some b-sides with this. Doubtful.

That's actually a valid question. Has anyone compared these to the initial CDRip FLACs that were out there?BootsToAsses wrote:Quick question:
Which 10c version of the album should I download? FLAC, Lossless, or WAV?

I want to hear a studio take of Of The Earth so bad. Really wish it would have been on this album. They could have easily dropped LTRP for it.Hypnosomnia wrote:It would be nice if they release some b-sides with this. Doubtful.

Or that. At this point, and I'm still really taking it all in, I think I like FD more so than LTRP.LostDog1079 wrote:Or drop Future Days.darth_vedder wrote:I want to hear a studio take of Of The Earth so bad. This might be the only circumstance under which I'd remotely care to have Of the Earth.darth_vedder wrote:They could have easily dropped LTRP for it.

Re: Lightning Bolt: The Official Album Thread
There's something to this.Dr. Van Nostrand wrote:pretty coolTj wrote:I read a Huffington Post interview yesterday. Eddie seemed to be teasing this as a concept album. So I started trying to look at in that way and find the story if there is one. So would it be typical of Ed to write a concept album, then not tell anyone outright? Would Ed write it as a riddle? I think the answers to both these may be yes. So in looking at each song , and the booklet I came up with this. First look at the last page of the booklet five images to me this became a key. It has to be there for a reason. What is it? Is it the proper order?. Lightningbolt, Siren/Future days, Let the Record Play, Swallowed Whole, and Yellow Moon as the frame work with the others adding color to the land scape. What if Lightning Bolt was love, being in love/falling in love? I think Lightning Bolt could be about anything that strikes. So being about love is not a stretch. Then we have two love letters. The lovers are not together. There seperated with one of them being in a war torn shit whole. Let The Records Play"when the kindom come" think of the saying bombed to kingdom come. How would one keep ones sanity at night while your town is being shelled? Swallowed Whole he is dead, free from the physical. Yellow moon the conclusion.
So the songs Getaway, MYM, Infallable paint the image of the war torn city , battlefield, or town. Sleeping By Myself work on accident , They are appart so it doesn't need to be much more than that but it works really well. Pendilums themes fit as a well. My Fathers Son well the gene pool that left this person in bad place. Like being born in to a religion or military service.
a lot of us wanted a concept album, and it would be hilarious if ed really did make it one with out telling anyone

The thing that excites me about Of The Earth is the style of the song rather than the song itself. I'd like Pearl Jam to sound like that but the song is only nice.

That is possibly the only change that would improve upon an otherwise great record.harmless wrote:It might've made this a significantly better album.McParadigm wrote:This might be the only circumstance under which I'd remotely care to have Of the Earth.darth_vedder wrote:They could have easily dropped LTRP for it.
OTE could've been an even better transition song between the middle section of the album and the final 3.

I get that...OTE and Pendulum is the direction I would like to steer this band towards. If only I could quantum leap into BOB's body and put some fixin' on things.Mike wrote:The thing that excites me about Of The Earth is the style of the song rather than the song itself. However I think BoB has a lot to do with how Pendulum sounds.darth_vedder wrote:I get that...OTE and Pendulum is the direction I would like to steer this band towards. It's more about the band coming in with a plan.
