I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Anders wrote:Someone please rank those 11 movies by how good they are.
1. Barbie
2. Past Lives
3. American Fiction
4. Saltburn
5. Poor Things
6. Oppenheimer
7. Maestro

Haven't seen the others but I'll rank them by how excited I am for them:

Anatomy of a Fall
Killers of the Flower Moon
The Zone of Interest
The Holdovers
I have now seen Anatomy of a Fall

I'd put it at #6 above Oppenheimer and Maestro

1. No Greta Gerwig Director nom
2. Maestro gets a Best Picture nom (this is fucking idiotic)
3. No Margot Robbie Actress nom
4. No Charles Melton Supporting nom
5. No Saltburn love (really deserves cinematography and screenplay, but there are others, too)
6. No Barbie Cinematography nod
7. Mark Ruffalo getting a Supporting nod (fucking hilariously stupid)
8. No Actor nod for Andrew Scott
9. No Best Picture nod for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse
10. No Greta Lee Actress nod
Not sure I would agree with all of these if I had seen the movies, but Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie being snubbed, was the most surprising to me. Also heard great things about Charles Melton's performance.

I would like to watch it, but like every year it's on at the worst possible time. So it's nearly impossible. Probably not even on here for that very reason.

Maybe Mia Goth will be a presenter and then who knows what she'll do.
