The Song is Only Nice: A Pearl Jam Anthology (2006-2012)

The songs are slightly nicer: A Pearl Jam Anthology Part II (2013- )

I get that...OTE and Pendulum is the direction I would like to steer this band towards. If only I could quantum leap into BOB's body and put some fixin' on things.
However I think BoB has a lot to do with how Pendulum sounds.
He has *nothing* to do with how Pendulum sounds. Jeff and another sound engineer recorded it.

I think there´s not even a recorded version of Of the Earth, according to that italian site anyway.

4 listenable songs = Getaway, Lightening Bolt, Infallible, Pendulum.

All the rest is lame.

Whole album easily forgettable.

Swallowed Whole is the biggest wildcard for me. That one perplexed me on early listens, but I knew there was something intriguing even when I heard the bridge on the first couple of listens. Now, the lyrics are starting the make an impact. I don't tend to pick up the case and read lyrics, they gotta sort of naturally get into me. But it's started to make a dent.

Give it time given. If you like Infallible, you should be able to get down with a few more songs over the next week or so.

Wow, I didn't even include the title track in my ranking. I think that guarantees a place in the "meh" category. That song doesn't really do it for me. Some compare it to Unthought Known, which I don't really see at all other than the new wave aspects. UK was a highlight of BS and one of the better tracks of the last decade for me.

I think Yellow Moon has moved in to my #1 slot. Sounds like a cousin of 1/2 Full (which I said way back in this threat would be a perfect closer for this album in place of Future Days).

Unthought Known gets a lot of hate around here. That and The End are my personal favorite songs on BS.
