Re: What movies are you watching?
Ferrari was really good.
Beautifully shot, with some lovely use of color.
The Italian countryside is unbelievably stunning, and the perfect backdrop to what are probably my favorite "race" scenes ever put to film.
A lot of screen time was dedicated to Enzo's double life, which was far less interesting to me than the origins of the car manufacturer and race team, but I understand why it needed to be there.
Cruz puts in a brilliant performance. A truly devastating portrayal of grief.
Driver is basically untouchable. Haters be damned.
Considering its IMDb rating of 6.7 (16k reviews), I can safely say this one is underrated.

I can't elaborate right now, I'm about to watch my partner in their theatre acting debut, but I absolutely loved Anatomy of a Fall, even though I typically dislike courtroom dramas; this was specialepilogue wrote:Can't wait to hear your thoughts.Ms Harmless wrote:I rented that last night but didn't know it was French and couldn't concentrate on it, I'm gonna try again today because I was impressedepilogue wrote:Anatomy of a Fall.
Really well done.
I thought the use and variety of tension was masterful. The whole thing really vibrates quietly.

Oddly enough, it was Matt Damon's goatee that bothered me more.spike wrote:Great movie if you can get past Affleck’s hair and goatee.
