It's only been the AP article I linked earlier but I have been periodically checking to see if there are other reviews. Last night I spent 30 minutes watching some guy share fragments of reactions. I will be devouring every inconsequential piece of information and perspective reaction I can between now and release.

Obviously I want a release date, and track listing, and artwork, and a single, and an album. I technically don't want to wait.

But the build up around a release doesn't happen all the time, and the anticipation is thrilling as much as it is maddening. This is a part of the experience.

We’ve made it to the friends we made along the way justification.

Really, I just would prefer they release the damn thing. I’m too old for the hype machine.

This is honestly my favorite part. It builds a rare, childlike excitement in me that I rarely feel anymore as an adult. I don’t want this immediately and have the instant gratification. I enjoy the anticipation.

They did the listening party last time, so it’s standard for them. However, last time, DOTC was already out, and they let the media essentially describe the songs and give lyrics.

This time, they don’t seem to be allowing that. Some chungus on YT can spout off song names but Cohen said he wouldn’t. That’s strange.

We live in the day of instant gratification. Nobody knows how to wait for anything anymore, and when you have it, you won't like it as much as you thought you might. This is the best part, imagining how good it could be.

Yeah very easy, that clean sound helped a lot.
I'm not sure if serious

I'm not on twitter. Has there been any reactions there (from folks who were present)?

There is literally nothing else on earth I would have set aside 27 minutes for to listen to some dude I don't know share half formed reactions over youtube. And I'm semi-desperate for more.

this is obviously the best part. the by-product of happening to be so into this one band that is still around to release their 12th album. we're lucky.

Even when I used to be on Twitter, back then all activity around PJ was awfully quiet

Unless Ed takes a public dump on Trump it's bound to remain that way

What’s funny to me is either you want publicity or you don’t. This approach is oddly in between. The hard core already know they will listen to this. Everyone else won’t unless it is attached to some other trend. That’s how music works now. TikTok, commercials, big podcasts not Spin or any other old media outlet. When was the last time you listened to a song or album because of old media?

it's like sex.. you don't want an orgasm right away, becuase it doesn't feel as good.. they're trying to make you feel as much tension as possible before the release, so the release feels better

I don't listen to anything because of Tiktok or commercials, that's for sure

Pearl Jam have always been "oddly in between", they're classically liberal in every (dark) matter
