I'm glad I only have to answer to the local council here. Essentially no contact bar paying our yearly rates.

Having said that, we have some new neighbours that haven't left a great initial impression. But they paid a stupid price for their place, so they get a fair bit if leeway from me for now.

Generally speaking:

Water, sewer, and garbage utilities

Exterior maintenance (landscaping, siding, roof, windows, etc.)

Common areas (parking, playground, courtyard, pool, elevator, weight room). However $300 likely wouldn’t have some of the amenities such as a pool or elevator.

You seem to know a lot about spikes building and their governing documents.

I owned a condo. This is basic stuff.

i will never again live a condo association and be beholden to other people's inane gripes and ideas about how i should live. i get enough of that when i see my crazy, trump-thumping relatives over the holidays.

no wild color schemes.
no taking garbage out before wed at 5 (thursday morning pick up)
clean up any messes you make in common areas (pool, tennis court, basketball court, clubhouse)
no exterior sheds bigger than X size

i do have to fill out a form to get my deck re-done

its also probably the most not paid any attention to. i take mine out in the mornings on thursdays but i see people with their garbage out on tuesdays.

i dont mind any of that the only thing my neighbors do that annoys the piss out of me is they blow off the stop sign in front of our place. literally have watched several cars go through the stop sign 15-20 miles per hour and barely even tap the break

calling up 2 or 3 apartment buildings today in Seattle to go look at some places on Monday..thankfully we'll be renters and not "really" have to deal with the issues..

no. i hadnt paid the dues for the last 8 months so i had to get caught up. those dues include lawn care (even though i dont have much of a back yard but do enjoy the common areas) the pool, snow removal and im not sure what else

It really is nice to know all the landscaping and external stuff is taken care of… talking to my non-condo owning friends about all the stuff they’ve had to be responsible for is kinda stressful.
