The last 3 songs on the smile album have me hooked.
Every sentence in my head, someone else has said.

I cranked up the little part before Who Ever Said starts really loud on a proper HiFi system and it sounded so very, very good.
Weird how I used to kind of mentally forgo that intro, but now it speaks to me.

I first listened to Gigaton on iTunes. Listening on a proper system made a world of difference

That clip reminds me most of Binaural which is exciting

Coupled with the album name and potential artwork...very interested in this.

We’ll hear some of it during the Super Bowl I’ll sure. Release date right after the biggest sporting event in the US is no coincidence

And right after that they’ll announce the return of the Sonics to Seattle. Gonna be amazeballs.

it's still blowing my mind that Ed calls this album their "best work"

not because that's what I'm expecting to feel myself, but because Ed (or any of them) doesn't usually talk about their music that way at all, so it'll be a good metric to gauge where Pearl Jam's quality judgment and control is truly at in 2024

if it sucks, maybe Ed's gone senile; if it's pretty good, maybe Ed and the boys really have been waiting for a producer and musical director that enhanced their vision instead of destroying it

Eh, I feel like Ed has been every bit of the hype machine in the past also. I just never put much stock into what any of them say about an album during the promotion. OF COURSE they will speak highly of the tracks therein. And frankly, if ed's saying it's their best work yet, im inclined to believe he's experiencing memory loss before I actually believe him.

That said, it could be a strong batch of songs. We will see.

I didn't say I believed him, that wasn't my point at all

I don't think PJ are "hype machines" about their music, they classically say jack shit about it

"it's got some rockers and it's got some slow songs" ad infinitum, never "I really rate this and everyone brought their A game"

Doesn’t Mike say it’s their best work to date every album cycle?

Yeah they always hype their albums. “It’s the best since..” “feels like..” Stone said he loved Backspacer back in the day. mike always talk.

Jeff is the most grounded I guess.
