Where are you getting that quote? If true then I'm actually excited now. Recording an album in 3 weeks sounds like new territory for them and if it's true, then Watt stopped them from over engineering stuff. Also means that we'll likely have less lyrics and more melody.Bi_3 wrote:This is interesting. I like the idea and forcing them to be present and not try to cram session after session of existing work into something semi-cohesive, but three weeks seems like a timeline for young bands in their creative prime.Unlike previous records which took years to complete with several group & individual recording sessions, Dark Matter was created in just three weeks at Shangri-La Studios with the entire band playing together with a burst of inspiration.

I remember Wall Of Eyes being mentioned here: well, at times it sounds like an experimental EP by U2. And I f*cking hate U2.

I feel like the clip with no vocals is the lead to bridge.96583UP wrote:maybe the vocal version was a demo with placeholder lyrics
Ed does that sometimes before he makes real ones
regardless I am liking this
it’s not spritzy
the first clip WITH vocals seems like simply the first 25 seconds of the song.
did this leak yet?

Aggressive drums/guitars are a nice change, similar You Are effect, menacing tone and dry production reminds me of QOTSA.
No opinion (right now) on Ed's delivery or whatever he's singing about.

This is not dry production. Seriously considering a thread just about music terminology.

The drums are not? That's what I always thought was "dry" - no or little reverb, similar to a log of QOTSA.
