Andrew Wotman is simultaneously the best and worst thing to happen to modern day PJ.

Re: Dark Matter (song)
Let's say Dime is 100% correct, that most or all of these songs were written during the Gigaton sessions. Then it still depends how far they had gotten with this song, if they ever did a full version, or how pleased they were with the version they had. Perhaps they were even thinking about a second album, even if a few years have gone by. That way they could record this album in a short time, instead of a long process.Val wrote:If sodimejinky99 wrote:I was given to understand they were all written around the same sessions and time. Then the question is
How the F do you not give DM a spot on the album instead of a few stinkers I can name

I thought DM songs were all written/recorded in 2022/2023.

Re: Dark Matter (song)
That Spin write-up a few pages back mentions that the songs were conceived at Wotman home studios in July of 2021, recorded in three weeks at Shangri-La in July of 2023.
No mention as of yet as to whether or not any of the songs that made the record were Gigaton holdovers.

We still make records to be listened to — not that everyone will listen to a record track one to twelve in a row or side A or Side B — but we still make 'em in case somebody does want to listen to it like that, that's how we make em…

Interesting thanks. That may tie in with the recording for Earthlings. I believe Waiting For Stevie was written then (Eddie mentioned that when Earthlings came out)oneway23 wrote:That Spin write-up a few pages back mentions that the songs were conceived at Wotman home studios in July of 2021, recorded in three weeks at Shangri-La in July of 2023.

I get U2 “Vertigo” vibe from this. But I don’t know what dry drums are, so don’t take my word for it

Very cool. My guess is this is the very end of the previous song (Wreckage) and leads into DM.B wrote:buy the single and you get a download with the instrumental with a cool Ed on the Arc machine opening.

OK. I'm a fan of this one. Love the mix, love Eddie being further back in it, love the drums and Jeff's all over it. Great to hear the band putting out good, solid rawk here.

Just to say. It’s lovely seeing so many familiar names turn up here who have been absent for so long.
And for a wonder, we’re all loving it.

I’m no audiophile at all
But it sounds different on iTunes than it does to Spotify and sounds really muted on YouTube
