Then the question is

How the F do you not give DM a spot on the album instead of a few stinkers I can name :shake:
Let's say Dime is 100% correct, that most or all of these songs were written during the Gigaton sessions. Then it still depends how far they had gotten with this song, if they ever did a full version, or how pleased they were with the version they had. Perhaps they were even thinking about a second album, even if a few years have gone by. That way they could record this album in a short time, instead of a long process.

That's interesting, where did you hear that?

I thought DM songs were all written/recorded in 2022/2023.

That Spin write-up a few pages back mentions that the songs were conceived at Wotman home studios in July of 2021, recorded in three weeks at Shangri-La in July of 2023.
No mention as of yet as to whether or not any of the songs that made the record were Gigaton holdovers.
We still make records to be listened to — not that everyone will listen to a record track one to twelve in a row or side A or Side B — but we still make 'em in case somebody does want to listen to it like that, that's how we make em…

Interesting thanks. That may tie in with the recording for Earthlings. I believe Waiting For Stevie was written then (Eddie mentioned that when Earthlings came out)

I get U2 “Vertigo” vibe from this. But I don’t know what dry drums are, so don’t take my word for it

Controversial :)

It’s too big a rocker like quick escape if I had to guess

Spot on - their debut was a rare great sounding album from the loudness war era

Very cool. My guess is this is the very end of the previous song (Wreckage) and leads into DM.

Where is this? I bought it on iTunes and that’s not there

OK. I'm a fan of this one. Love the mix, love Eddie being further back in it, love the drums and Jeff's all over it. Great to hear the band putting out good, solid rawk here.

4 stars and climbing.

Well gigaton was part one. Look down the spine of the lp or cd. It even says part one somehwere in the booklet

Just to say. It’s lovely seeing so many familiar names turn up here who have been absent for so long.

And for a wonder, we’re all loving it.

Word...Feel the same...Especially nice to see so many on board with the new goodness. Hope that carries over to the album proper.

Just checked Spotify credits, it lists as written by everyone in the band INCLUDING Andrew Watt.

Hmm
it sounds like Watt probably did some directing of watt they had, and on this evidence that's good
