I’m a little confused by the one article saying all the songs were written in 2021 but recorded in 2023. Had Ed even recorded his album in 2021?

I'd like a little less Tom Petty in my Pearl Jam. That's probably just me.

It's a better title than Waiting for Stevie

was Ten the last album to have that many 5 minute+ songs? Bodes well for end of song jams?

What if wotman was in the process of creating a greta van vleet type ripoff band but in the style of early Pearl jam but randomly met Eddie and they mutually agreed that it be used for real Pearl Jam

And Ed convinced stone and Jeff that if they came to record with him and wotman they wouldn’t have to endure torturous multiple writing sessions where they accident make can’t deny me’s because the songs are already done

Well, (The Amazing) Gigaton had 5/12 five-plus minute songs. Here we have 4/11. I think this bodes very well.

Agreed!

This is likely a retread for some, but saw this on the Relix article...

Ament added, “What Ed said about getting us in a room at this point, we felt like we were about to make a really important record. A lot of that had to do with the atmosphere Andrew set up. He has encyclopedic knowledge of our history, not only as a band and how we wrote songs, but as players. He could pinpoint things we did on old songs to the point where I was like, ‘What the fuck is he talking about?’ His excitement was contagious. He’s a force. I just want to say thanks for keeping us on track. I couldn’t be prouder of us as a band. I feel so grateful for the fans, but mostly for my brothers and these people I’ve made music with.”

Makes end-of-song jams a strong possibility, as well as some mid-song meanderings a la Who Ever Said.

I’m wondering if Running is going to be a Spin The Black Circle/Comatose type rocker.
