The thing is you all know, because you’ve heard good drums from a live band. You’ve heard Riot Act, you’ve heard In Utero, you’ve heard Eat a Peach, you’ve heard Wildflowers.
These drums sound like shit, in case you forgot.
i don't get how you can say they objectively are bad.. maybe it's just a different sound.. why must all drums sound the same?

I'm sure you're right from a technical standpoint, but my uneducated ears just don't hear a problem.
I was wondering how I'd find the transition between this and Something Special and tbh I think now it might be fine, they are similarly playful in tone (albeit in different ways) so that playfulness will hopefully unite them and separate them both from more serious points on the record; something I miss from Pearl Jam is being put in a consistent mood for a while, I'm just a bit tired of the emotional whiplash of modern PJ; so if this album can hit two or three vibes instead of 7 or 8 I'll be happy
The song stars with a very simple kind of goofy bass riff and then the guitars come in and pretty much bang the power chords of the notes Jeff is playing. duhduhduhduh DUHDUHDUHDUH duhduhduhduh DUH DUDUHDUH
Then Ed yells YEAH YEAH YEAH and theres a little guitar lick
Then theres a short verse we did not hear yet in the snippet going into the chorus we know. lots of running rhymes
then it repeats
then we have the snippet part
then we have a kind of goofy guitar solo
then lots of spritzy ole yelling, eddie sounds like a madman
then the end

Haha this is actually a great description. Quite accurate.

I wouldn't describe it as spritzy, but maybe I've lost sight of what that means

Different site...One I hear people in TX may need a VPN for these days
We still make records to be listened to — not that everyone will listen to a record track one to twelve in a row or side A or Side B — but we still make 'em in case somebody does want to listen to it like that, that's how we make em…

Haha yeah I never initially described it as spritzy but on repeated listens there’s definitely a side of spritz in there along with the main course which is a little heavier.
