Studio Ghibli.

Post by Sarah. »

It's all kind of new to me, but I've been watching some of these with my boys. They love them so much they'll even watch the Japanese versions with the subtitles. That's saying a lot for 8 and 10 year old boys who rarely sit still for anything much. Favourites so far are Howls Moving Castle, Spirited Away and of course My Neighbour Totorro.

Any more fans here?

I almost watched all of them I think. Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind (Not technically a Ghibli movie), Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away are my favorites. Nausicaä is similar to Mononoke in it's nature/humanity theme.

I think the boys have seen Nausicaä, but not Mononoke. I just got the new one "up on poppy hill" but we haven't watched it yet. Ponyo is next on the list to buy.
