Yeah, really can't believe the song title. And it has one of the longest run times of the album, and if it's the In Hiding esque song from the leak, it may be one of the best songs.

I for one like that Watt had the song end and not fade out.

Makes me think the album will be tight.

Despite the title, Love Boat Captain is one of my favorites from Riot Act. Same goes with Johnny Guitar being one of my faves from Backspacer. Now I’m really interested in hearing Waiting For Stevie the more I think about it.

yep, I really don't think he massacred this performance; yes he has a modern style and yes, for me that worked better for solo Ed than for PJ, and yes I think Gigaton sounds more organic (most of the time, those bars of drums before SBWM sound more robotic than anything in this song)

but Watt put these guys in a room, together, said "play, together", and then enhanced certain ideas to give us a few delicious, classically PJ twists and turns; and I for one am grateful for that, and grateful that PJ are out of a creative slump that I became quite depressed about for a while; they're not "back", they are simply being themselves in 2024; but they, and me, are more alligned in 2024 than we were 3 albums ago and that's something I'm celebrating

and "Waiting for Stevie" sounds like an ode to one of Ed's heroes; again, business as usual, this is what Ed likes to do and that's fine with me

Hell yes...take a firm hand here, Strat
We still make records to be listened to — not that everyone will listen to a record track one to twelve in a row or side A or Side B — but we still make 'em in case somebody does want to listen to it like that, that's how we make em…

Honestly, the thing that excites me most about this record is how little time it took to create it. Just dudes in the same room hammering it out. Even if the production is suspect, there should be some cool ideas and spontaneity in the construction of the songs.

Easily the most exciting aspect for me as well. No more home demos, recorded individually and in isolation, getting de-molecularized & re-assembled via Protools

Im not sure if everything comes from those three weeks at Shangri La; Waiting for Stevie main idea at least comes from the Earthling sessions.

And they also did a few encounters at Watt’s studio. I do love they spent time at Shangri La.

Hopefully a good EPK or something comes out with some footage of that
BONE FUCKIN´ TOMAHAWK.
