DOTC is awful. I cringed. No lie.

Surprised this is such a hot take. I also was not alone in this. Long-time PJ friends agreed.
Long-time PJ friends as in they don't like any albums post-No Code?
My best friend and I have been die hards since day 1 all the way to today, and while we liked Gigaton, Dance of the Clairvoyants is a bathroom break at a show and absolutely skippable.
Don't get this at all.
That's OK. Wait are we required to like EVERYTHING they do?
No, but I like the band enough that I guess none of them are "bathroom break" songs for me.

We still make records to be listened to — not that everyone will listen to a record track one to twelve in a row or side A or Side B — but we still make 'em in case somebody does want to listen to it like that, that's how we make em…

Even Flow would be my bathroom break song just because I’ve heard the shit out of it, live and otherwise.

I'd skip it on a bootleg, but I wouldn't skip it in-person the once every five years or so that I get to hear it in a crowd of fellow fans.

As most of us approach our 50's, diapers are becoming an option I suppose.

That said I have a couple songs I could simply miss for whatever reason (merch, bathroom, beer, etc). This - Dark Matter - will not be one of them.

You'd think as I get older I'd get more patient but I want the rest of the album NOW. I think the Netflix style of dropping entire seasons at once has ruined me...I refuse to wait even a week for another episode of a show, I just let the whole thing to finish then binge it all. Same with albums, I'm over the drip feed approach lol.

If we're still on our honeymoon phase it's fine.
Anyone else a little bummed about loudness being on the soft side?

Today while on shuffle I got "Dark Matter" (the one I bought from iTunes) sandwiched by "Dusty" by Soundgarden and "Devils and Dust" by Bruce.
Both songs dwarfed DM on the dB side of things.
This could be an iTunes issue, anyone?

Don’t think I saw this yet. Apple Music has added lyrics now.

Steal the light from our eyes
Drain the blood from our hearts
In all of this dark matter

Take the breath from our chest
Break the thoughts in our mind
We're losing time, dark matter

Denounce the demigods
King diamond to discard
Deploy the dialogue
Your word against the law

It's strange these days
When everybody else pays
For someone else's mistake
This blame takes shape
Still everybody else pays
For someone else's mistake

Eroding away
We're pulling apart
In all of this dark matter

I once heard it said
And it stuck in my head
Arrested the press
No one knows what happened next

Renounce the demagogues
King diamond to discard
Deploy the dialogue
Your word against the law

It's strange these days
When everybody else pays
For someone else's mistake
This blame takes shape
Still everybody else pays
For someone else's mistake

No tolerance for
Intolerance or
No patience left for
Impatience no more
No love lost for
Lost loves
No sorrow for
The unaccountable

It's strange these days
When everybody else pays
For someone else's mistake
This blame takes shape
Still everybody else pays
For someone else's mistake

Black Circle did it again. Drums are not great there, but vocals are on point as always.

The FLAC file sounded a ton better to my ears than the Spotify stream. The song is fine. I’d give it a 3 right now.
