Yeah, I don't have have much inclination to allocate that much time for that long (when Maddux would finish them in under 2 hours) esp with Buck and McCarver
thats half the reason they last so long... Buck and McCarver and Fox lol
just look at the NFL... ya got 4 15 min quarters taking 3 and a half hours now
baseballs not boring, corporate advertising dollars is boring
OH no, I'm not complaining about baseball or the pitching gems. Love em. Just not the 4 hrs it takes to complete them

yeah, it just really bugs me when people say baseball is boring... out side of a brawl? the longest break you SHOULD get between a pitch is about 2 mins (between innings or a pitching change) other wise you should get a pitch every 10-20 seconds depending on the play / pitching
football will have a turn over, go to commercial, return run a play with a challenge, another play, start the clock to hit the 2 min warning and, yet another commercial... they build their game for commercials i get so bored right before half time as you get about 10 breaks in that final 5 mins lol
This is whats making these games last so long... holy pitching changes Leyland!
does he have no confidence these guys can get out someone from the opposite side of the plate???

I love that McCarver was too busy telling another of his pointless stories to even realize it was getting a lil too hot... Joes like blow it out already Tim!
now that i type that, im surprised it was even burning so high with those wind bags sucking all the oxygen out of the booth LOL
The useless golf debate about Hunter Mahan's comments was classic.
"How about letting them wear shorts in 110 degree heat... that's an unwritten rule...."
"No that's actually written down.."
I'm sure both of these guys have their moments off air where they don't seem like insufferable douchebags, but for the love of all that is good an holy, aren't there plenty of people out there who can broadcast a baseball game without making you hope for a well timed meteor?
When I was in college, I photoshopped a picture of McCarver and gave him devil horns, glowing red eyes, flames surrounding him, and a button that said "I love Hitler." It got lost during some hard drive switch years ago, and every postseason I wish I had it again. Oh, and we taped a copy of it to the bottom of the toilet seat in my brother's apartment, but they had to take it down because everyone peed on it instead of peeing in the bowl.

Yeah, when mute is your best friend on a baseball broadcast, you're in trouble...
I have a hard time believing that they are the #1 available broadcasters...

pretty much all of McCarvers "unwritten golf rules" were actually rules werent they? LOL
I wish you all could get the pleasure of Bob Costas and Bob Uecker in a non playoff game setting... they did a couple innings together last year? maybe 2 years ago? for the Brewers and it was some of the funniest TV / Radio (they were doing the radio but the TV used their commentary for a full inning)
MLB Network should just get to pick who does the games, Costas, Matty Vasg.... ergian? Smoltz, Jim Katt, those guys are all great

Love Uecker, unfortunately the way media companies go, when guys like him are gone, there won't be anymore.
