Oh, trust me...it's on
We still make records to be listened to — not that everyone will listen to a record track one to twelve in a row or side A or Side B — but we still make 'em in case somebody does want to listen to it like that, that's how we make em…

I think that as a collection of songs this album is gonna beat Gigaton silly
That would have been Hard to Imagine but then I heard Dark Matter and it is definitely besting Quick Escape at its game. And I think to myself, if I took random snippets of 8 tracks from Gigaton and fuzzled them up a bit with atmosphere, could it possibly be as good as the metal door leak? Maybe, but it would have to be carefully curated to do so, and I don't get the impression that the metal door leak was carefully curated (for instance, the part of Dark Matter chosen feels very arbitrary; if you wanted to showcase it, you'd choose bridge into solo).

damn it, gigaton is lyrically strong - at least Eddie's compositions (Buckle Up is interesting, too)

Easily their best since Riot Act, maybe even Binaural. This is the best album I’ve heard in a while, in general.

Yes, it is. But imagine an album where he reins in the excess verbosity, yet still manages to hit hard with his words. That's what I'm imagining.

From the metal door clips, I'm still looking forward to the last one the most. Probably "Setting Sun"? Almost all the snippets sound highly promising.
Pearl Jam is the only band I'll spend money on.

Of the Mars is so much denser than of the Jupiter, but Of the Saturn is in a league of its own.

Ok I listened to the door leak one last time. I think the schmaltzy swing one has some lyrics about "giving you a chance to grow " and a word that rhymes with special. So, I think this MIGHT be Something Special, since it's supposed to be about Ed's daughters. Which could make the last one Got to Give or Setting Sun.

The person recording definitely skipped a few songs.
