When can we expect you singing over the B side instrumental track?
I haven't heard that
It's a fan request Jorge.

It’s the Dark Matter that is growing on you but without the vocal track, except an Arc like Eddie chant at the beginning.

I think both records are going to sound "band in a room" in different ways; I think this performance by Matt beats the shit out of anything he did on Gigaton and as a drummer I can say that you only play like that if you are in the same room as a band; in contrast, the awfully basic drum intro to SBWM was definitely done remotely, by click track, then given to each guy one by one to overlay their part on top of; I like the song, I got used to it, but it sounds robotic in a way that hurts the album

the instrumental b-side is obviously for DJ remixes

Yeah, the drumming is the first time I've been impressed by Matt in what feels like forever. The chorus in particular is pretty sick.

maybe this is EXACTLY why I've been craving better, less stiff playing from Matt for so long; he wasn't playing it with band in room, he was doing the equivalent of an actor fighting a beanie on a stick for them to later turn into a dragon via CGI; Dark Matter doesn't sound like that, and I'm happy about it

DM FEELS like a band in the room....the emotion of playing off eachother comes through.

Gigaton sounds like a band in the same room

My hot take.

Jeff's bass overdrive at 1:30 is still my favorite part. I picture him ambling over to his pedal board and triumphantly stomping that sucker for a few measures before Ed shoots him a dirty look and he sheepishly turns it off again. It's great.

the open hi-hat on the "1" of each bar in the verse is the mutt's nuts; it's exactly the kind of drumming choice I would have made, it's the little things

i wonder if Wortman coached Ed on his delivery

it sounds more thoughtful than past records

i just wish someone would tell him that people don't use the word 'gook' anymore

it's not funny

but other than that, Ed's performance is great

I have mistaken Andrew Watt for JJ Watt many times.
