"First song blew everyone away. Reminded me of the same energy/drive of who ever said. Last song left them speechless. Think parting ways meets retrograde meets around the bend. (I know but trust me). Album ends on such a high note. Super powerful stuff. No filler tracks. Feels like yield in that way. First half is more rocking. Wrecked mellows it out. That reminded me of a 7 o’clock verse type of song. Second half is filled with the mid tempo rockers and running breaks it up(which reminded me of good vs evil, especially the end). Someone Special wasn’t really my vibe, but everyone else loved it. It’s pretty fucking adorable and will hit with anyone who has kids. My initial standouts were scared of fear, waiting for Stevie, got to give (triumphant feel good chorus) and setting sunset.
Sounds good! Now I'm a bit confused whether the last snippet in that metal door leak was Setting Sun or Got to Give. Can you link me to this Reddit post?
I think that about settles it. Got to Give has to be the final track on metal door sessions, and then we get a more typical PJ closer in Setting.

Second single?
Dark Matter (album): April 19, 2024
Probably the next single will arrive in March.
I think it depends on the traction that Dark Matter is getting on radio, etc. If it's having success then they'll wait longer (e.g. into April) to release the 2nd single. Superblood Wolmoon was a quick turnaround because Dance of the Clairvoyants wasn't getting a lot of play.

I honestly don't remember the last time an album I was anticipating had only one song released beforehand, unless it was some kind of surprise drop. March for the second single seems like a good bet, with a third song hitting around the release date.

Agreed, triumphant feel good chorus definitely sounds like the last song on metal door. The metal door seems to have skipped the opener, Running, and the closer Setting Sun

It's possible there's another skipped. 5/6 COULD be the same.

OK, I got it now. I heard the album leak on 20th March so that's why I couldn't recall a 3rd single. QE was released after I'd already heard Gigaton about a hundred times.

Its possible but the more I hear it, with descriptions, it fits well that metal door leak goes
0:00- React/Respond
0:21- Wreckage
0:41- Dark Matter
1:05- Won't Tell
1:47- Upper Hand
2:19- Waiting For Stevie
3:03- Something Special
3:33- Got To Give
Could be wrong of course, but it seems to line up.
PJ Tour Kid described the last song as "heavy" on the SOLAT podcast. So that description seems a little surprising. So perhaps he meant it more as emotionally heavy...

Yeah to me I have always thought clips 5 and 6 were different. 5 has kind of a staccato rhythm to it. I don't get that in 6 but, then again, without the bridge connecting Dark Matter's verse to chorus, I could have been convinced they were different tracks.
I've been most interested in track 1 and 8 since this thing leaked. Trying not to get my hopes up too much.....

He won't remember, but, I got Gigaton quite early last time and Trag couldn't keep it in his pants...Gave it to whoever would make eyes at him.
I freaking had it and still waited until three days after actual release, until I got the high resolution version, to hear it for the first time.
I've committed once again to the No Leak Club, but, I'll probably turn heel on it this time.
If I don't happen to get it early this go around, I fully expect RM to reciprocate.

We still make records to be listened to — not that everyone will listen to a record track one to twelve in a row or side A or Side B — but we still make 'em in case somebody does want to listen to it like that, that's how we make em…

I imagine Dark Matter will get a lot more airplay than Dance of the Clairvoyants. They lead with an experimental first single with Dance. I think Superblood Wolfmoon got more airplay. I bet Dark Matter does really well.

I always thought clips 5 and 6 were the same song as well. Just different sections of it.
