I started reading The Three-Body Problem and it's full of Dongs

Isn't The Three-Body Problem being adapted for Netflix by David Benioff & DB Weiss, the show-runners from Game of Thrones?
They've shown they can adapt material well when having the...well, material...Running out of book, they were hapless teenagers writing fan-fic.
Are there enough books here to cover a full series over multiple seasons?
There's only one novel as far as I know?
Anyways, it's quite complex. It doesn't require multiple books to make a series instead of one movie. Series have been based on single books before.

Benioff and Weiss absolutely butchered GoT once they ran out of material. Very cliched writers these two are. A major disappointment from season 5 on. Hopefully this time they'll just need to follow the original material closely and that will manifest itself in a good resulting show.

However that isn't what I'm most looking forward to. Project Hail Mary is coming out next (?) year and it's based on an absolute banger of a novel by Andy Weir. I'm a huge fan of Mr. Weir. I have read Artemis and Project Hail Mary both multiple times and I looooooves them immensely. This is how you sci-fi! By putting science back into sci-fi.

By the way, have you guys heard Pearl Jam's new song called Dark Matter from their upcoming eponymous album? It rocks!

Yes, but I don't think they actually recorded together, unfortunately.
He recorded his vocals in LA and they flew the track in.

Wish he'd work with Melvins again sometime

We still make records to be listened to — not that everyone will listen to a record track one to twelve in a row or side A or Side B — but we still make 'em in case somebody does want to listen to it like that, that's how we make em…

Agree with all you said re: GoT
Thanks for the recommendations!

There are 3 books in the Three Body Problem Series. The other two are The Dark Forest and Death’s End. They get increasingly better and mind blowing from the first.

Please don’t mention the names Benioff and Weiss again. Those scumbags are the most talentless, opportunistic pieces of shit that do not understand what makes a good work of art. They slaughtered the GoT series when they ran out of material because they are both terrible writers and show that they do not understand the core characters, motivations, and arcs.

Those two dildos are going to butcher The Three Body Problem as well. They plan on setting the story in NY with American characters, defeating a core element of the book starting with the Chinese revolution. Because I guess Americans can’t relate to storylines not set in America (nonsense, not true).

Fuck these guys. I hate them with a passion.

They very easily could have had an earlier streaming/CD release date and a separate vinyl release in April if they needed the lead-in time for production.
Unfortunately, not too many artists seem willing to do this.

Wait
What
Seriously??

But the atrocities of the commies that came into power are, like, the biggest driving force behind the motivation of the main characters of the book. How can you simply erase such an important foundational plot element

Who said that? I sure didn't. The comparisons to IDLES just seem totally arbitrary

They're a bit different musically, but they're a heavier rock band with a devoted cult following and a political, "all-for-one" aesthetic. I don't think it's all that arbitrary. Also pretty sure they were supposed to open for PJ until the pandemic wrecked that plan.
