Has he ever actually sang "Had my eyes peeled both wide open" live? That's the best part of the song.

I've never really tried to decipher it, but I think what my ears think they're hearing without close analysis is, "Give in to exist."

What does Ed sing these days in the bridge part? Sounds like some garbled mix of "Eddieeeeee, newspaper vulnerable" or something.

He's definitely not singing the album version at that part.

The musical build up and then "I wave to all my friends, yeah" is a top 5 moment in their catalogue. Just a perfect blend of music and lyrics.

Hearing this finally in Berlin in 2018 was one of the greatest moments of my life. The crowd sang it so loud. There's a wonderful cathartic feeling there.

Never heard a live version where they don't fuck it up in some way. Studio version will never be topped.

in fact - I will give someone £10 if they can show me a live version that

- contains no flubs
- is at least on par with the studio version

Warning - I am a VERY discerning listener of Pearl Jam so bring your A game

The lame reinterpretations from 03 tour will IMMEDIATELY be disqualified so don't even bother

I think we have to class every live version ever as flubbed because I'm not sure Eddie has ever sung the "eyes peeled both wide open" line, even going back to the likes of Berlin and Hartford 1996.

That being said, Columbus 2000 is the best version I've ever come across.

Ruddo's stance on IMT is completely insane. Yet somehow my love for him endures.

I don't quite share this opinion, but I do get it.
