Re: Final Fantasy VII Remastered
I'm really enjoying this. Really helped me from being bummed out by Cyberpunk not working.
Just finished the Wall Market chapter and it was such a nostalgia trip, with a nice newness to it. Rocked out the squat thrust challenge and got the championship belt just like back in the day. Keep waiting for certain enemies to pop up and always really pleased when they do.

I really hated the squat and pull up challenges, I will not be going back for the trophy for a perfect run of those.Orpheus wrote:I'm really enjoying this. Really helped me from being bummed out by Cyberpunk not working.

I did end up going back to replay for some things like all enemy skills, all 9 dresses, all sidequests, etc. I never did hit maximum weapon proficiency on all weapons or hit level 50 though.

Re: Final Fantasy VII Remastered
I'm salty the PS4 version isn't getting the new chapter with Yuffie.
I'm not buying a PS5 for one fucking level in a remake of a 24 year old game.

I watched a buddy of mine play this briefly. I was completely blown away.

Re: Final Fantasy VII Remastered
If you want to get all the trophies. Some of them are extremely annoying because you have to run long distances to kill like 2 or 3 things. Others like the pull up contest can fuck right off.
I did grind out all the sidequests and the 9 dresses trophies, but I still never got to level 50 or finished all the VR simulator fights. I might go back and do that one day.

I absolutely loved the approach to this story. I kinda liked playing as Yuffie better.

So do we need a new thread for rebirth?

No. In fact, rename this thread, "Final Fantasy." No franchise should have more than 1 thread.Mecca wrote:So do we need a new thread for rebirth?

It’s more of an anthology than a franchiseCopperTom wrote:No. In fact, rename this thread, "Final Fantasy." No franchise should have more than 1 thread.Mecca wrote:So do we need a new thread for rebirth?

Re: Final Fantasy VII Remastered
I really don’t remember why this was my initial reaction, because I absolutely loved the game by the end of it. I think maybe the side quest system was lame at the start and I didn’t quite get the “retcon” aspectsMecca wrote:Me after getting to Sector 7

I'm playing FFVII Remake right now. Big year for Final Fantasy in my house, apparently.

Re: Final Fantasy
I had such a strange relationship with Remake: I liked it, but felt like it was a little too meh on the “go fetch this, go kill this” side quests at first, but what they did with the story and especially the last quarter of the story really got me sucked in. Then the Yuffie DLC was amazingly fun.Monkey_Driven wrote:I'm playing FFVII Remake right now. Big year for Final Fantasy in my house, apparently.
Rebirth is the perfect marriage of the best elements of the Yuffie episode and Remake. The side quests are too repetitive for each area that by the time I reached Gongaga I didn’t care about completing the area; just the card game opponents became my priority. I am addicted to this game though. I just wanna go home and finish the story.
