Ep 2 was way better than 1. Good move releasing them both to start.
I’ll see it through, but it’s A LOT of reading. I appreciate the white savior just for the language reprieve.
On a personal level, I’m not a big fan of prevalent aspects of Asian culture. I hate their concept of honor (please let me commit seppuku for speaking out of turn). Mostly, I can’t stand the slurping. There are less disgusting ways to show appreciation for food.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

There’s just something about this show that hasn’t clicked for me yet. I really liked all of the stuff in the latest episode before they got on the road, it was a good set-piece of tension building, but there are elements that have missed the mark for me. But I’m willing to give it more time.
Always appreciate a good Catholic vs Protestant story, makes all those Western Civ classes seem worth it.
I wasn't as enamoured with episode three; still enjoying it and I'll tune in till the end but yeah; the mechanics were WAY more obvious, it's incredibly clear that
they're setting up white saviour and token female Japanese main character to sleep together; I mean they essentially offed both of their partners in the same episode and had them gazing lovingly at each other on a boat
