Every time I see the title "Wreckage" I hear the chorus of the song "Plowed" by Sponge.

Sometime between roughly 8-15 years ago, Ed hosted a radio show where he played a bunch of his favorite songs. Someone on here (or the old board probably) shared a link to the whole show, and I downloaded it and burned it to a CD so I could listen to it in the car. I remember he played a Fugazi song I hadn’t heard and I really liked. At the end, when he was saying his goodbyes, he played an instrumental electronic song in the background and then let it play for a short bit after that.

He didn’t outright say “this is one of my ecstasy songs”, but something along the lines of “this is a little something I had made” and WE ALL concluded that it must be one of his ecstasy songs.

And then I woke up, I guess.
That was on Pearl Jam Radio, they called it the Eddie Vedder show. Kinda pseudo Self-Pollution Radio/Monkeywrench Radio 20 years later. I have the show too and know the song you're talking about. I don't know if he was messing around or whatever. I always wondered if you've seen Water on the Road where they take you backstage and Ed talks about recording stuff pre-show to relax if it wasn't a by-product of that.

Funny how they re-recorded it recently, and the guy now over-enunciates "wreckage" just like our boy EV would.

I just came here to highlight this absolute gem of a comment so it doesn’t go unappreciated.

we've possibly got another spritzy punker on our hands (though if Matt can bring the fire, we'll at least have more Police than Devo)
