Three of the fastest and frenzied songs on Ten or Vs. They're all great in their own way, and I appreciate how each one manages to occupy a different emotional register. But there is a transcendent sense of becoming at the end of Porch, a purity of experience that the other two can't match. I've heard folks say that Porch feels incomplete, and from a compositional standpoint I can kind of see where that critique comes from. But the performance captures a fully realized moment of transformative self-discovery that it also doesn't matter that it never fully resolves itself. Neither does life.

Blood, hands down; it's one of three songs on Vs. that might be their closest to "metal" ever (the others are Go and Leash)

I like the others, but if I'm honest, they're both sort of a means to an end (to arrive at a long face-melting solo)

I don’t want to cuddle in Porch’s voice one last time, so I am voting for Porch to continue on.

maybe Why Go, maybe Porch, maybe Deep... but I just think Vs. introduced a harsher aggression, maybe because it's less polished production-wise

Porch, although the studio version pales to any live version.

Blood was always a top 5 PJ song for me but at 45 that angst doesn't really hit like it used to. Porch is a bit overrated imo. I'm going Why Go... I never ever finding myself skipping that one on a shuffle

Why Go for me. I think it’s one of the best songs from Ten.

Love 'em all, but Porch is such a core song for me. The end has been everything since I was Twelve years old...
We still make records to be listened to — not that everyone will listen to a record track one to twelve in a row or side A or Side B — but we still make 'em in case somebody does want to listen to it like that, that's how we make em…

When I was a teenager listening to Ten on repeat, Why Go was the weak link on side a, but I appreciate the hell out of that song now. Live, Jeff's base line is massive.

“Porch” has a middle section that can become anything. I know there is a whole mindset that thinks its inappropriate to vote based on live versions, but insofar as all of that potential is bottled up in there somewhere even on the album cut, this one is an easy one for me (though some of the “Blood” tags are good too).

Relistening to these studio versions for the tournament (some of which I haven't heard in ages), I'm really enjoying listening to how the band is playing, particularly on the early tracks where Eddie is so out in front, and for better or for worse, doing so much. Why Go has always been a Ten favorite for me, and I think it narrowly wins out over Blood. The slimy entrance of the 12-string bass, followed by the cacophony of feedback from the guitars funneling into the tightness of the band in the verse...I think it's one of my favorite intros into a song the band has.

Porch has always been a good song rather than a great one for me. It's another impassioned performance, but I can't really say it's every grabbed me in the way it clearly grabs others.
