Spoiler: show
they're setting up white saviour and token female Japanese main character to sleep together; I mean they essentially offed both of their partners in the same episode and had them gazing lovingly at each other on a boat

Did you read the book?

Took in the first episode. I dug it. I am not going to be able to watch this late at night like I do with other shows, though. Too much subtitle reading for my tired eyes at that time of day.

Interesting. I was so put off by the white guy's acting we never went back. I guess he gets better?

i haven’t seen it, but you can’t go wrong with tragsbigzanda as a guess, especially if we’re talking “unquestionable authority figures”

Haha that ending. Jesus!

Still don't like the Anjin actor, but the actress playing his consort is stunningly beautiful.

Just caught up. I think this show is solid but is getting overrated a bit. It’s average GoT quality thus far, which is just fine. I haven’t been awed by anything yet.

I don’t think you mean his consort. She almost looks like a Thai hooker. I think you mean the woman doing all the translating. She is a stunner.

All right. Different strokes for different masturbators.

Ep 5 was excellent. I really appreciate the Anjin’s view of how Japanese culture seemingly treats life like it’s worthless because I totally agree. I also enjoyed her explaining their perspective.
