I actually did have a gal the other day that got hit on the way to our interview. She called and explained everything and was only about 20 minutes late. I hired her.

Re: The New & Unproved Work/Job/Career Thread
So over the last couple of weeks a colleague has announced that he has gotten another position with a different company. I volunteered to take over his area and one of my subordinates get promoted and take over 3 of the 4 centers I’m currently over. My boss really appreciated me coming up with a plan to get everything covered and so after all is said and done my plan is going into effect. The bad part is that I’ll be over all 8 centers for about a month or more due to my replacement having personal obligations that keep her tied up til the beginning of May. The good news is I’ll now be over the 2 most profitable centers from last year so hopefully the potential for more bonuses is there. The better news is my boss called me today and told me I’ll be getting a 9% raise which I totally didn’t expect.

There is an eagle in me and a mockingbird . . . and the eagle flies among the Rocky Mountains of my dreams and fights among the Sierra crags of what I want . . . and the mockingbird warbles in the early forenoon before the dew is gone, warbles in the underbrush of my Chattanoogas of hope, gushes over the blue Ozark foothills of my wishes—And I got the eagle and the mockingbird from the wilderness.
O, I got a zoo, I got a menagerie, inside my ribs, under my bony head, under my red-valve heart—and I got something else: it is a man-child heart, a woman-child heart: it is a father and mother and lover: it came from God-Knows-Where: it is going to God-Knows-Where—For I am the keeper of the zoo: I say yes and no: I sing and kill and work: I am a pal of the world: I came from the wilderness.
