I was the featured speaker at this big event with hundreds of attendees. But I didn’t know - it wasn’t on my calendar. I got to my office in the morning and my boss called me to a meeting off-site and when I got there, boom, everyone waiting for my presentation. I wasn’t dressed professionally, got to the stage late because I had to find a bathroom first. A big debacle, but the speech was well received.

Lots of other little details that are hazy.

i dreamt last night that I was posting

Trag, bodysnatcher and I took a trip to Europe. As per real life, I let someone else make all the accommodations. Don’t know which one did, but it was either Trag or ‘snatch. So we get to Europe and we make a stop at what appears to be an apartment. Not sure why were there but the arrangement was made and we were there. We stay a while and are getting set to leave and my vest has disappeared. It was one of those situations where the host takes your coat when you get there and then when you leave you get it back. So our host has taken my vest but can’t find it when it’s time to leave. So I start to get a bit upset, then this other dude shows up out of nowhere and starts telling me I never had a vest in the first place. And the whole scene looks like something out of a drug deal gone bad situation in a movie. So ‘snatch and trag are just trying to calm me down and forget it. So I agree and now I have no shoes. So I’m enraged again but I end up being sent to some other section of what has now become a resort of some kind and I’m riding in one of these glorified golf carts over to where my shoes are supposed to be. Well I get there and they have no idea what I’m talking about. Full of fury, I decide to back to this room but can’t find my way there and no one has a clue about it. Never heard of it. Not the room number, not that section of the “resort.” Nothing. I find out trag and ‘snatch have already left somehow but I have no way of knowing where they are or of contacting them so I’m basically stuck in Europe at this resort that doesn’t know anything with no vest and no shoes and the two dudes that planned everything and i went there with have basically bailed on me.

Then I wake up…

ive had trip gone wrong dream recently also (with clothes missing)

last night a group of four random elite RMers that don't post "hacked" my network and all my devices in my downstairs jam studio . I was trying to disconnect the ethernet cable but it was too late.
for some reason i owned all these stupid robot arm things that were misbehaving, multiple routers, and other random electronics that were all compromised.

I dreamt that I had extra tickets to this local jazz show because two friends had cancelled. I posted about it here and Sgt Crackpot happened to have two friends who were visiting Buenos Aires so they joined us. But they also happened to be the two most boring guys ever. One of them wouldn't shut up about his job at a water quality testing lab

I dreamt I had a very strict Japanese boss. We had a good understanding, and I felt his respect for me was on the rise. Then he found out I spend a lot of time taking care of my daughter, sometimes starting work at home early in the morning, before delivering her at daycare, and then going to the office. This disappointed him greatly. He said this would have to change. My wife and daughter then came to the office. He was quite nice to my daughter, while my wife was saying someting in my defence (but not in an office politics kind of way, just sort of smiling and saying it straight). Then I woke up.

I was in the Hungry Jacks (Burger King) drive-thru with an unspecified friend, and Billy Corgan was in the window wearing a cartoon black and white striped jail outfit. Inside it looked like a school disco where he was playing his new album. It was shit, but after a while i think i started to enjoy it, so billy said "your ears clicked"

Somehow, I was looking at the tracklist and it had 48 songs. The song I "liked" was called "sanweches" (I don't even like smashing pumpkins that much)

Afterwards, I was trying out to fill in as fullback for the cronulla sharks. They were throwing plastic boomerangs around, but i was distracted as my pants were missing.

This has been happening since I have slept with the window open.

Dreamt that news came out that Beyonce had been shot, but she had been taken to the emergency room and no one knew if she had survived, so radio stations all started to play the same song in tribute... but the song they were playing was "Straight Up" by Paula Abdul, which in my dream went back and forth between being an actual Beyonce song and being the original Paula Abdul song (and me being the only person who realized the radio stations were playing the wrong artist)

I was back in my home town walking around with some friends and a girl I was dating. All over town, there were little holes in the ground that were very deep and had a strange pink light shining out of them. The townsfolk didn't know exactly what they were, but there were rumors that a company nearby had experimented with some AI/nanobot tech, and it had gotten out and gone underground and was now growing. Of course I thought this was concerning, but no one else did. They just thought it was some harmless quirk of the town. Like a claim to fame. Come see the holes of pink light! i spat into one, but then regretted doing that.

Anyway we walk some more and we come to a larger pit in a parking lot. A huge crowd is standing around it and we wander over to it. I ask what is going on and someone tells me that every night something comes out of the ground and sucks a few people down into the depths. Some people go willingly. I was like "wtf! Let's get out of here." But of course it was too late, as the pink lights started glowing and I immediately lost my strength and fell to the ground. My girlfriend was on my back and I just told her to hang on to me while I crawled on all fours to get away from it. It was sucking the ground in as well, like a conveyor belt, but I could just barely keep pace. A demonic but mechanical voice was talking, but I didn't dare look behind me to see what was pulling us into the pit. It said something about how those who come willingly will be rewarded, but fuck that! Finally, after a couple of long minutes, it stopped and I just barely escaped it, but the girl on my back was gone I'm afraid.

I got up and dusted myself off. I was a little distraught at first, but then I saw my dog laying on the ground and figured he had fallen down. I forgot all about the demon robot hellpit and my borg-ified, now-ex-girlfriend. I went to help him stand back up. While I was doing this, I saw these weird little organic bubbles floating on top of a water puddle. They were interacting and spinning around each other in strange ways. "what a weird plant. Never seen that before." Then I woke up.

Dream 2, somewhat similar to the previous...

I was back in my hometown again (not a good sign!), but this time it's daytime and I'm working in a video game studio making a fighting game. I have a Chinese coworker who hates a Japanese coworker because of atrocities committed in WWII. The Chinese guy always finds a reason to fight, and the Japanese guy, who finds this amusing, is always prodding him with comments and questions designed to provoke. They are constantly arguing, but today they look like they are about to fist fight. I think to myself, "these two idiots are about to get fired." But it's my lunch break and so I leave them to it and go outside.

I'm walking down the street thinking about what I'm going to eat, when I hear a commotion behind me. I turn and see some people lying on the ground, presumably dead. Others are running. I look closer and see some yellowish-white smoke coming out of the vents on the ground. It looks like some kind of underground gas leak or maybe a sarin gas attack or something.

Everyone is in a panic now, including me. The smoke is now appearing everywhere and groups of people are dropping dead. Traffic is stopped. Cars are crashed. I hold my breath and run up a hill thinking high ground is my only hope.

There isn't really any high hills around but anything is probably better than where I am. But I need not have bothered.

As I crested the hill a HUGE pillar of smoke rises up and dominates the sky. I don't know if it's a mile away or a hundred miles away, but I know I'm fucked, and maybe everyone is fucked. Is it a super volcano? A bomb? An asteroid? Aliens? Who the fuck knows.

I feel the wind pick up and know I'm about to get blown apart by a shockwave, or swallowed up by a pyroclastic flow. But I gotta try something, so I desperately run toward a nearby building hoping to find shelter.

But as I'm running I think:

1. I'm about to die. This sucks!

2. Even worse, I'm gonna die as a number. A nameless, faceless statistic in a news article.

3. Even worse, I don't know why I'm about to die. What is happening!? That was what I was most upset about, even more than actually dying. I really wanted to know what it was.

Anyway, I never made it to the building.

Notes:

1. I notice that in my dreams, I'm almost always much younger. I'm in my twenties or teens. That was probably the last time I considered myself I real person, not the decayed husk that I am now.

2. I didn't know any of these "friends" in real life. They were dream friends. Didn't know the girl either. She was very hot and out of my league, but I wasn't that attached to her.

3. You can feel wind in dreams. Never noticed that before.

4. You can hold your breath a really long time in dreams.

5. I might be having apocalyptic visions, like Jordan Peterson. Am I am the next visionary leader of men?

6. There is something in the ground. It hungers.
