i love this one. i think since there's 2 basses it makes the awesome guitar lines stick out even more. ed's delivery is also pretty awesome.
"this gene pools drownin me"
"this gene pools dark and deep"
i love these lines

Re: My Father's Son
When I first heard the song I thought the opening line was "I come from a genie, yes".

Actually the book was closer then i realised, so the first line is "i come from a genius and i am my fathers son"Strat wrote:What is the first line?

It's really f^*-ing incredible, isn't it?! I can't believe they were able to write and record this song at this stage in their career. Jeff and Ed keep pushing each other further and further out.Strat wrote:Ed really tears up thte 3rd verse. Man alive that is sexy.
I'm going to walk the dog and crank this to 11. Wish I had Pono

This one benefited the most from switching to an HQ version from the iTunes stream.

Re: My Father's Son
This song has speeding ticket written all over it. Pretty sure it's going to overtake Yellow Moon very soon as my favorite track on the album. It's got the most attitude of anything they've put out post-2000.
