MM 3-3: Rival vs. Thin Air vs. Soon Forget

Easy round.

Thin Air is very pretty, but I really don't like the lyrics. Like lowlight and no way, it's a song I'd like a lot more with some different words.

Soon Forget is one of the more mean spirited songs in the catalog, and while I appreciate it for the uke inclusion, I prefer Bugs more, which was a cooler move and on a far more anticipated record.

Rival is just terrific.

Man, I love Thin Air, it's sad to see it losing to Rival Rival is pretty good, quirky and all, but Thin Air is great. It's one of my favorites on Binaural, if not my favorite.

Rival and Thin Air both are great, with strong lyrics (Soon Forget is the lyrical dog of this round). But Rival has a chance of scraping my top 10. Rival's one of a number of Binaural songs that feel pretty singular in the band's catalog (Insignificance, Sleight of Hand are some others).

I've always enjoyed Thin Air, but Rival has been stealthily climbing up my list - I never seek it out, but every time I hear it I think "Oh yeah, this is actually effing great".
