The derailleur is actually a pretty important part. It allows movement from one speed to another. I think this song may very well function as a derailleur on Dark Matter, but not in a bad way. In short, I'm open

Yep definitely LB and Backspacer vibes. Presumably the clip means it'll be the second single. So will probably be one of the 3/4 Dark Matter tracks they'll have in their setlists in the coming tour. Hope the full song isn't reflective of this clip tbh. 'Jaunty' 'playful' Pearl Jam is my least favourite Pearl Jam.

Just to add further concern about this track, wasn't this the one that was supposed to have been written by Ed about his kids?

Definitely is up there as one of my favorites. I guess Yield is, but Backspacer has a interesting charm as a group of songs. I think coming off the weight of Riot Act and S/T elevated it a bit. There is also some ways it fits into my life at the time that helps.
