Re: The Office
The "Jim is a douche" narrative is the most egregious misread in TV history. The Internet has been trying to make it a thing for so long and it's just absurd.

Re: The Office
His relentless bullying and gaslighting of his clearly autistic coworker is pretty damning

You’ll have to be more specific.

Do you consider yourself a Jim?epilogue wrote:The "Jim is a douche" narrative is the most egregious misread in TV history. The Internet has been trying to make it a thing for so long and it's just absurd.
I came to my conclusion having no clue that it was a thing. I assumed he was universally beloved. I’m glad I was wrong.

Re: The Office
I think the big problem is that early on the show is modeled after the British version where Michael/David and Dwight/Gareth are far more annoying and unlikeable. So when they pivot to making Dwight and Michael more sympathetic it makes Jim look bad in retrospect.

It's been a while since I watched it, but I don't think so. He's a lot more depressed and is actually the subject of bullying from David Brent a few times.spike wrote:Is the Jim in the British version a douche though?Alex wrote:yeahtommy wrote:I think the big problem is that early on the show is modeled after the British version where Michael/David and Dwight/Gareth are far more annoying and unlikeable. The pranks weren't such a big deal in the British office. The only one I remember is the stapler in the jello.
