Man, Pearl Jam with super-contemporary production sounds so weird to me. Really need to hear the whole album.

Geezes christ, and im sorry, but the drums sound the exact fucking same as earthlings and that is so messed up. Two very distinct legend drummers, reduced to a single sound with zero character distinction between them.

Eds vocals seem buried as well and not succinct.

But, lots of potential. Still excited!

they posted to their social media. darkmatter.pearljam.com. enter that, point your phone to the sky, and unreleased shit starts playing apparently. I'm in an office currently, but people seem excited

buried Ed vocals is good, but I agree with you about the drums

perhaps its not even the buriedness about them, sounds like he's not fully enunciating his words and hsi breathiness is to new levels. Not sure yet!

That transition into that chorus (or whatever the second section is) has some pretty big modern rock radio vibes.

Also, was that the song stone mentioned Ed was almost rapping? I think its more that then word salad. I like the cadence and then it opens up more sparsely in the next set. Awesome

You can hear a little of the band chorus chant at the very beginning that Stone mentions in his interview. This is the one that was supposedly Lukin-esque so word salad would make sense. My initial reaction to this was positive which was not so much the case with Something Special so I will take that as a win. Also, when did Pearl Jam conversation become so drum-centric--not the drummers but the sounds?

That clip is good, but it seems suspiciously like a bridge, so there could still be plenty of spritz on this one.
