Album sales are a totally different thing now. People as a majority listen to music differently now most people experience vastly different Then we at rm do. We are complete outliers. I think it will sound like Earthling which is fine. I'm not sure this band is self aware.
1.they don't like 10
2. They didn't want Black to be a single
3. Stone wasn't happy with Vitalogy and No Code
4. When Mike was on the verge of pentatonic demigod status he was shut out of Vitalogy.
5.Ed had writers block on Vs. Um Rearviewmirror Indifference Blood Elderly the freaken melody on Leash.
6 Sad Fatal In the Moonlight excluded
7.ruining two great ideas Infallible and Let the Records play
8. Dennis Rodman
9 most likely the first 11 album was better than the second
10. High fiving white guys
11.Hats

A simple search shows Jeff said that about the album back in June 2023. So more than a few months ago.

That’s surprising but ok

But I still am extremely skeptical that were the band run democratically, there would be enough support for it to sound as awful as it does.

I think the theory thrown out yesterday that maybe they never cared all that much holds some water. They've made 11 albums, a handful of which we generally agree are very well produced. That could just be dumb luck.

Yeah I’ve honestly been thinking this too for the last couple days

I feel like Binaural and S/T were very specific choices. Alas, they didnt like the finished product of binaural and didnt chase it all the way.

The remaining albums seem to have been left up to the producer in charge, the main one having once created the standard for much of our eras rock music. Then he got old/lazy/and maybe also lost his hearing/started caring more about radio play and staying relevant.
