I find it interesting the songs they’re releasing aren’t the ones people that have heard the album are hyped about.
maybe they want to tell us that the worst ones on this thing aren't that bad, I can appreciate that
I’m good with this.

Anything you don't like about it?

It’s not too chintzy I suppose!

But then again that could be a negative too

I really like when a bright, energetic song sounds like it was probably just fun to play, and isn’t too calculated about winning you over.

I also like when songs have big, beautiful, melodic statements to make.

I don’t think the two blend well together, though, and I think the bridge here should have belonged to its own song. That’s too much weight for a song that doesn’t really seem to want it. It feels grafted on.

I have a huge soft spot for dumbdumb goofball punk though
I think if PJ are gonna do that, they just need to do it well, and this is done well enough

I don't agree that PJ are just "dumb now"; Lukin, Red Dot, always dumb; I can allow them one on each album as long as it doesn't suck
But Lukin is awesome. Whipping is awesome. This spritzy punk shit didn't start until Backspacer era where it kinda permeated throughout the album, with "Devo" influences on GSMF, Got Some, and bad songs like Supersonic and Ole.

Running had potential to be so much better.
I have a special hatred for got some. The audacity of a song to promise you that it’s got some rock song if you need it…when it so clearly doesn’t, is tepid, and tries to hide the mountains of suck behind a few spacey licks

I like SuperSonic and GSMF
hey hey, Vindicator I'm definitely not saying this is as good as Lukin (but at the same time, I don't think there is as much holding it back from being Lukin as you might think; it's the production values, I'm telling ya)

Eds vocal delivery and melody are just not...pronounced? Like he didnt spend enough time crafting them? Of course, im just not used to it yet and that can grow.

But, again, i dont like the way the vocals are mixed. its not doing him any favors. Its so buried and you cant hear him actually annunciate

I honestly can't believe that they're releasing pure back-half album fodder as a second single.

I think it's the word salad delivery to start the track "got me running got me running " ugh. It reminds me of the bad parts of Superblood Wolfmoon and worse, Ole.

I'm telling you, they could have rebuilt this whole track around that awesome bridge as a chorus and we would have a great song. I literally got a bit of chills the other day when the Running clip dropped, only to have it all be deflated, which I admittedly was half expecting.

I was a bit over the top. I get vestibular migraines and don’t usually listen to music this maxxed out anymore. I think I find that production or mastering too harsh to enjoy. I loved Gigaton too and hoped they would build on that songwriting but the dynamics here don’t sound well arranged or by a band locking into a groove. It sounds like a green day riff that way explained to the rest of the band and Ed giving his damndest to give it life.

Even when they get in a room and bash songs out they sound overwrought
We still make records to be listened to — not that everyone will listen to a record track one to twelve in a row or side A or Side B — but we still make 'em in case somebody does want to listen to it like that, that's how we make em…

Every time I listen, the bridge just baffles me. Kick that shit out of there. Put it somewhere else.

It feels like when they put out those sonic sampler clips with snippets from multiple songs spliced together.

This song is dopey fun, let it be dopey fun.

I do think this album is shaping up to be the Avocado to Gigaton's Riot Act.
