1) Kim Neely, Five Against One

I remember reading that book.
That book was supermarket tabloid trash
I think it also formed the basis for that bullshit Rolling Stone hit job on Eddie too.

There have been a number of artists over the years that have discredited Kim Neely
I wouldn't put much faith in anything written by that hack.

funny how, production-wise, gigaton sounds a lot more like a band playing in a room than this does, despite the fact they've stated it's the other way around.

It’s good but let’s be honest, you take the singer away and Idles loses some luster
Blasphemy! The drummer is a beast.

Matt + reverb in the bridge = Pretty classic-sounding PJ moment.

Funny...Was thinking of Who Ever Said, in contrast, while listening to Running
We still make records to be listened to — not that everyone will listen to a record track one to twelve in a row or side A or Side B — but we still make 'em in case somebody does want to listen to it like that, that's how we make em…

Still reserving judgment on that. Do I think they still have more arty records in them? Yes. Do I think we’d have a cohort similarly complaining that they wish they’d just rock out and take names? Yes.

There’s no pleasing everyone. I am very hopefully there will be plenty on here to enjoy.

so is matt cameron but it doesn't make up for some of ed's "choices", or lack thereof

This song is certainly one that gets stuck in your head...for better or worse I guess. And I think I finally understand the production comments because it is so in your face here, but I think for the style and tone of this song it actually works. Liking this more and more on repeated listens.

Too bad their guitarists are completely outclassed by Stone and Mike

Maybe it's the best of both worlds with Gigaton and Dark Matter.

I feel like that's an apples to oranges argument. They're all excellent guitarists. I think the IDLES guys do more interesting things these days than Mike and Stone.

Classic punk rock trick having a major key happy go lucky melody accompanied by lyrics that are basically pissed off area man shakes fist at cloud
