Even if I could excuse it for Sirens, which I absolutely can't, Lightning Bolt coming right after only reinforces my opinion. All the good will created both before and after (ignoring the garbage tracks) is destroyed by these wretched songs. the worst part is that it sounds like they were trying so very very hard! that's what makes them so sad.

ive started to like the beginning of it as well, i wasnt into much but the final minute or minute and a half at first, but its been growing on my over the last couple of days and now im looking forward to hearing it in the car on the way home

I think Ed is acknowledging religion and that it is OK to believe, but just don't force it down people's throats.

That's basically the theme of the record. God/creator = good (or at least appealing in the face of mortality). Religious dogma = bad.
