Just gonna remind everyone that this thing is 45 mins long and we haven’t even heard 6 mins of it yet.

Gut reactions, it's an onslaught. I liked it. A lot of people on this forum will HATE this album m
We still make records to be listened to — not that everyone will listen to a record track one to twelve in a row or side A or Side B — but we still make 'em in case somebody does want to listen to it like that, that's how we make em…

Good point. We've heard 5:50 worth of two complete songs out of 48:19 of the whole album.liebzz wrote:Just gonna remind everyone that this thing is 45 mins long and we haven’t even heard 6 mins of it yet.

Honestly, I can't fathom giving a review after just one listen. I need multiple listens to really understand the songs and form an opinion. Many songs I immediately like don't age well and some that don't grab me immediately become favourites later.

I think the hope from these kinds of events from the label's perspective typically (not just for PJ but generally) is to build buzz about an exclusive experience (which they hope translates into a positive buzz about the album itself). I don't think anybody could walk out of these kinds of things able to give an in-depth, thoughtful review.jdopj wrote:I couldnt agree more. Re: Dark Matter: Official Album Thread
1) That was a mostly incoherent/useless review
2) Makes you wonder why they decided to pivot from Wreckage to Running?

I just read that as "half of the album I still remember", not that the rest is badRAG319 wrote:For someone there to say that is.....oof.Release_Me wrote:From someone at the Pit who attended the Listening Party today:

Re: Dark Matter: Official Album Thread
People seem to unanimously love 30% of Running.
Him saying he liked half the album is giving us a chance that around 55% of each remaining song is fucking great.
