We're speaking the same language, man. I have a wedding dress I have to squeeze into and I'd rather not be popping out of it like an open can of biscuits on the day.wease wrote:Trying to lose weight and keep the lunchtime calories down.smileinmytree wrote:I'm glad I'm not the only one eating the same meal for lunch every day.wease wrote:Turkey sandwich

You mean like a Kentucky Hot Brown? I'd destroy that on a normal day. Alas, tuna sandwiches for me until I'm wed and have successfully trapped my future husband. Then I can get fat.doug rr wrote:what's your take on open faced sandwiches with gravy?smileinmytree wrote:We're speaking the same language, man. Classic bechamel (1tbsp butter, 1tbsp flour, 1 cup milk), simmer to desired thickness, stir in shredded gruyere, finish with a bit of freshly grated nutmeg.doug rr wrote:speaking of a hot brown, walk us through your mornay saucesmileinmytree wrote:You mean like a Kentucky Hot Brown? He does indeed. And I cook a LOT. Similar to many folks, I got aggressively into baking and sourdough bread during COVID.doug rr wrote:does your future husband appreciate your cooking prowess?smileinmytree wrote:Classic bechamel (1tbsp butter, 1tbsp flour, 1 cup milk), simmer to desired thickness, stir in shredded gruyere, finish with a bit of freshly grated nutmeg.doug rr wrote:speaking of a hot brown, walk us through your mornay saucesmileinmytree wrote:You mean like a Kentucky Hot Brown? Re: What the F's for Lunch?
Well, today I guess I had brunch. I made some corned beef hash with leftover corned beef and had a couple of sunny side up eggs. Not as good as the canned but still yummy.

I made a brussel sprout, bacon, gruyere quiche for dinner last night and am having leftovers for lunch.
