I don't think a "declipped" version/vinyl master would improve anything either as the sampled drums are compressed by design in the mix, it would only highlight that side-chain sucking sound.

in this case, its not a decent recording ruined by mastering.

I totally lost it at the first “yeah yeah yeah”. So spazzy after the silence.

Thank you for this delight.

I think the lyrics in the outro are

You got me running
You got me running
You got me running
You got me running

I'll piss on the stone
I'll buy the 'tato
I got my hat on
Don't buy Montana

You are the turtle
I love this single
Oh Wesley Wanlow
Sensing your fuck off

I feel like this is a song that non or even casual PJ fans might like more than hardcore fans. It's easily digestible and in any case it's over in two minutes.

I've given it a couple listens and this is an alright song, albeit of the variety of Pearl Jam tunes that I don't find particularly compelling. I could see it being one of the weakest songs on the album and that would be fairly acceptable. Everybody sounds energized in their performances and I definitely like what they're doing in the bridge through the solo more than the rest of the relentless rush.

"Dark Matter" is a better song by almost any measure, but both have an unlabored, rough draft sense to them where it sounds like there's more that could be done structurally, but the band were in a euphoric rush to commit things to the DAW and get on to the next song. I won't beat the horse about the production too much other than to state, as others have, that it's going to be the real sore spot for likely the entire album. I have a feeling it will fall into the same camp as Earthling for me; a good number of songs that I rather like, but difficult to listen to and enjoy what the band is doing to the fullest extent that they deserve.

Pretty sure this is sandwiched in between a healthy dose of mid tempo buttrock.
