i brought 'push me, pull me' lyrics to english lit class and actually the teacher was into it

like a cloud dropping rain i'm discarding all thought
i'm drying up
leaving puddles on the ground
i'm like an opening band for the sun

shame what ed has turned into

Imagine Philly 2009 being amongst the most highly recommended official bootlegs.

The next album will be a return to form.

Heard Porch today and thought of Trag’s story. He simultaneously ruined and made this song better.

I’ve probably mentally blocked out worse, but one thing that still makes me cringe was using this as my HS yearbook quote. Thank god I lost my copy in a fire.

I remember when, yeah
I swore I knew everything, oh yeah
Let's say knowledge is a tree, yeah
It's growing up just like me, yeah

That and my fiancé seeing half a dozen framed show posters in my storage locker.

Oh, and going to the LB midnight release pop up downtown. That was the end of my serious fandom.
Also, this is the sort of thing I’d think about every time I couldn’t fall asleep for the rest of my life.

this is easy:

my most embarrassing fandom moment is how excited I got about Lightning Bolt early on, and how much Copium I sniffed to try and cover over my difficulties with the album

I still agree with Past Me on one or two things -- at least, what Pearl Jam was attempting -- and I still like the album more than most here, probably, but now I acknowledge that I had been going through a three-album struggle where I was trying (and failing) to come to terms with PJ not being my most flawless band of all time anymore; Copium is an addiction covering up a lot of hurt

During my teen years I was a regular poster on the AOL Pearl Jam forums. At the tail end of the boycott Ticketmaster era in a thread discussing possible alternative venues for the band to play in I sincerely suggested the Mall of America rotunda. I was immediately ridiculed.

I don’t remember PJ forums but I would go on the rock forums and look for other PJ fans. Someone from Colorado agreed to mail me a cassette tape of what I would later learn to be Give Way. I played the shit out of that thing in my car.

Hey that's pretty sweet! It was always cool crossing paths with random PJ mega fans back in the day. I attended my local community college in high school as a PSEO student and there was a guy in one of my classes who dubbed a cassette of all the Xmas Singles (plus a bunch of random rare stuff) for me. This was pre-Napster/MP3's so pretty special.

Getting a tattoo of the "Alive Guy" on my forehead in 1992 was probably the worst mistake I've ever made

Handing Mike my cell phone and telling him to say hi to my girlfriend while he and Boom were nice enough to go outside the arena and sign autographs hours before a show.
