Dog shit song, PJ always great at bridges and it semi saves the song but luckily its only 2 minutes long. Hopefully its like Supersonic, a single but never played.

I have 0 time for shit EV punk songs like johnny guitar, comatose etc.
EV did not write the music for Johnny Guitar or Comatose.
Yeah but he tries to put this like punk element over the top.
He didn't write the music to Running either - that was Jeff. His vocals seem to appropriate for the style of song.

Also JG is many things (like a good song), but it's not punk

I have no idea why people keep trying to lump Johnny Guitar in with the "punky" numbers? It's a completely different beast... and way better than the Supersonics of the catalog

I think people are hearing eds spitfire vocals and lumping them all together.

"I love dark matter and running is ok  scared of fear you will like if you like this style.  Wreckage had an appeal and to me had a daughter vibe. I don't know man it all blurs fast. I know me personally though at least 4 songs weren't for me at first listen but hey some songs take some time. Just not a fan of the slower cheese or petty style myself"

"Kind of hard to take it all in but I remember thinking Stevie wasn't what I expected for some reason I thought it was a ballad but its not. Its not as heavy as the earlier part of the album though"

"Yes I liked it but I liked 7 or 8 of them. I know its only 1 listen in a hyped environment with Ed there but there weren't many I didn't like"

"I remember liking react respond first 5 i think i was impressed and thought solid. I can't remember too much as it was so ridiculously loud hard to make out too much detail and ed was 3 feet away so mesmerising. I got caught in his glow"

Has anyone yet expressed their displeasure with the fact that DM and Running seem to share one and the same bridge?

Johnny Guitar is NOT a punk song

Crazy how people hear music so differently.

"Yeah I was surprised by Waiting for Stevie.  I thought it was going to be more like something from Earthling (I expected a Stevie Wonder reference?) but it seemed emotionally deeper and less poppy than pretty much anything on Earthling.  Not sure about instant classic, but it made a positive first impression on me.

Must admit Setting Sun didn't make much of an impression on first listen.  That's not to say it's not good, I just think I was aware it was all wrapping up and the free bar and tequila shots had done some of their damage to my memory by that point..."

they're trying to showcase an artist's work, hence the 12 vinyl variants designed by said artist; it's fine

These don't bother me because they are utterly dispensable. If I was a collector I'd be into this. If I'm not, I lose absolutely nothing by ignoring this one. it's the same thing as buying multiple copies of No Code to get all the 'cards'
