Just reading everything beyond the point when I fell asleep with my dick in my hand while obsessively reading RM posts...
Harmless & Trag, you are two of my favorite posters around here.
Please bring it in, Jamily. We can be so much better than this.
As an aside, very excited by Ruddo's song choices over the past decade and a half. GSMF & Johnny Guitar both criminally underrated...Johnny was one of the last times they truly sounded as though they were having fun without being overwrought.
Still not clicking with the new jazz
Edit: Running club? Can I roll?

We still make records to be listened to — not that everyone will listen to a record track one to twelve in a row or side A or Side B — but we still make 'em in case somebody does want to listen to it like that, that's how we make em…

Spotify is good. You can increase the streaming quality in settings.
It maxes out well below tidal/amazon/apple
Can someone please just tell me what the best way to listen to this thing is?
whatever makes your heart happy!
Yeah but… how does one change the EQ settings in Spotify, and what would you set them to to get the most or best out of this song?

sometimes it isn't both sides that are the problem; I promise you it's OK to say "Trag, leave Harmless alone" once in a while

Turns out trag and stip aren’t so different after all.

The quality is good enough across streaming platforms that many won’t notice the difference.
So Apple is blowing you away with bit rate (which by the way they still have not released this actual #), but it doesn’t matter due to diminishing returns. Then of course you’re listening through the shittiest EQ presets I could ever dream of.
Give me 2 minutes with your iPhone and Spotify app and I’ll dial it in - you’d never go back to Apple.
Tidal is the next tier up. I forget whether your can create custom EQs….

Settings > playback > equalizer. You can start with any of the defaults and then drag (up or down) various adjustment points from the low end to mid to high end. it's rudimentary but better than apple where you have no choice.
"For me, it's all about the time we're having just playing the songs. So if it's kind of a mindless good time, then....."
