I like the ending a lot too. Need to figure out those words.VinylGuy wrote:Well, im warming a lot with this song. It has a lot of energy and its catchy too, specially the bridge.
yeah, the bridge is awesome. Tight as hell. I still think the solo its meh, specially the guitar tone but its followed by that insanely heavy ending so im liking it more with each listen

I’ve been listening to quiet ambient music all morning, and feel like if I jump straight into Running I might get whiplash. Gonna need a good middle ground song or two to make that transition. Maybe I’ll queue up some Crash Test Dummies

For the record, I appreciate Ms. Harmless and her contributions to the board. She makes this a more interesting place to post.

We still make records to be listened to — not that everyone will listen to a record track one to twelve in a row or side A or Side B — but we still make 'em in case somebody does want to listen to it like that, that's how we make em…

he just laughed at VG because VG expressed his enjoyment of a songStrat wrote:Again. Wrong. Nobody has said you can't like this song. We talk production. Trag has made some good points, but he's also made some pretty unhinged posts. His intense hatred for Andrew Watt is truly strange.

I just don't see how it's "bullying" if there is no actual threat. Maybe that's my shortcoming? Could be.

Re: Running
That really sums it all up. I want everyone to express their opinions, those that like what they hear and those that don’t. We should be allowed to express dissenting opinions and provide analyses on what we do and do not enjoy without invalidating or insulting each other. It’s weird to feel the need to “counter” one opinion with an opposite one. I’m curious about what it is those that don’t like the song dislike about. And I learned some interesting things about the production in the process. And it hasn’t altered my enjoyment of the song one bit even if I do notice its flaws. However it is tiresome to have someone yuck your yum directly. There are better ways to provide analysis and opinions.RockPusher wrote:I think part of the problem is that there are a lot of people here who don't like modern Pearl Jam, and who view this as a place to vent about why, because they see this as a forum *about* Pearl Jam. On the other hand, there are a lot of people here, myself included, who see this as a forum for *fans of* Pearl Jam. We definitely want there to be space to be critical of the music and the band, but the massive amount of shaming taking place for earnestly liking stuff seems way out of place to us. "HOW CAN YOU LIKE THIS WHEN IT SOUNDS LIKE SHIT" is a form of bullying for a place like this, from our perspective. "I'M SO EMBARRASSED BY THIS MUSIC" is a similar type of vibe that adds nothing to the discussion. Layering it in snark and then trying to guilt people for being bothered by it doesn't help.
