Let this match stand as confirmation that this whole tournament is a product of the RNG. Because Quick Escape is the massive, huge song I didn't know they had in them at the time. It's wonderful.

But MYM is a misunderstood masterpiece. Some great musical moments, terrific performance by Eddie (especially the real 'self-realized' chorus), and one of the more quietly complex set of lyrics this side of Comatose. It's just an incredible song, and gets my vote.

Damn. I dig them both. MYM due to the intro. Still the best thing they’ve done in a long time.

This feels a lot closer than the votes indicate. I like many things about MYM, but like quick escape, the verses are the least interesting parts. But the solo at the end of quick escape is one of my favorite moments in all of post riot act Pearl Jam. The end of quick escape is not just a solo; it’s a real, full band jam that feels like early era PJ even if it doesn’t sound like it. It’s not just mikes solo. It’s Jeff’s incredible bass work and Matt’s fills, all of it coming together.

mym is great, but quick escape is greater.

my first listen to gigaton was a dedicated listen on headphones and i wasn't sure the band would ever be able to create a new song that would induce a genuine, goosebump-fueled 'fuck yeah :bammer:' out of me, but they did from pretty much the peak in the first bridge through the rest of the song.
ah, copperplate, a font for the truly modern man.

QE has touched down on the red planet and MYM hasn't even left the launchpad.

This is too bad for MYM, that actually may be my favorite song on LB. But this is a runaway for Quick Escape. The transition from the bridge that boils over into the wild first solo is up there with my favorite moments of this band on any record.
