Yup, 2 questions to Stone for those scoring at home.

Also, I'm scarred from hearing that new Bon Jovi song during the telecast.

Looking at the PJ subreddit for the first time (I think?) and it reminded me a bit of scrolling through RM. I had no idea people there were so down on the new music, I expected it to be more fawning adoration.

Breakerfall has a little spritz
I define spritz as "throwaway fast song with punky edge." They've been on all PJ albums since Vitalogy.

IMO they are:

Whipping
Lukin
Brain of J
God's Dice
Green Disease
Comatose
Supersonic
Mind Your Manners
Never Destination
Running

Ole is probably one as well

You cannot seriously class Whipping and Brain of J as "throwaway"

I wouldn't include half of those tbh. Big Wave should be in there tho.

This topic itself is spritzy, at this point...Everyone has a different take
We still make records to be listened to — not that everyone will listen to a record track one to twelve in a row or side A or Side B — but we still make 'em in case somebody does want to listen to it like that, that's how we make em…

yep, maybe PJ's intention has been to write so many spritzy tracks that the entire ideology of "spritz" eventually dies; they're on course

Yeah I do. "Throwaway" isn't necessarily bad to me, it just means they're minor songs.

Who sincerely thinks songs like Whipping or Brain Of J are highlights of their respective albums? If anyone thinks that, I will beat them to a pulp.

Got Some and Big Wave do not meet my definition of spritz.

It's a vibe. You know the spritz when you hear it.

Brain of J is on a whole other level. It's a rocker, like WWS (but better).

I think we agree if we say that most of the songs put on that list are at the very bottom of PJ repertoire, right?

Other than Brain of J and Whipping, none is even remotely close to their top... 100? 125?

And that's why I don't like when they take this route.

lol one of these tracks is not like the others. No way i can accept Brain of J being any sort of "throwaway".

Whipping i can actually somewhat accept as a "throwaway", but this was the type of "throwaway" the band could produce at their absolute peak. Its on a whole other level than songs like Supersonic, Ole, Running, Never Destination, etc.

Could be.

They already featured a snippet from Something Special on another sports broadcast like two weeks ago.
