It's hard for younger acts to press vinyl because the processing plants are in overdrive largely due to legacy acts hogging resources to milk their fanbases dry, so smaller labels and independent artists struggle to meet demand. This sends already ridiculous prices soaring even higher.

I don't know how much they're pressing but 12 is a lot of variants. I hope they're responsible about it

I don't know. Maybe it's too much of an upfront cost. Jack White made a video recently from Third Man headquarters begging the record industry to create more vinyl processing plants because of how bad they were struggling.

This lack of resources also leads artists to turn to smaller / borderline bootleg vinyl operations that are low quality and results in noisy or otherwise defective pressings

Creating a situation where bigger acts end up getting the premium / nice sounding vinyl, while smaller acts are relegated to the cheap noisy stuff
